Eastern Europe and Russia the fastest growth markets for Outdoor Sporting Goods.
2014-09-23 source ownThe European Outdoor Group recently released its first report on the results of this year’s “State of Trade”, the group’s yearly report on the European outdoor sporting goods market. The report stated that the overall European market in 2013 grew by 2.8% in terms of volume and by 3.1% in overall value, with total retail sales in excess of €10 billion euro’s. The report stated that Eastern Europe and Russia were the fastest growth markets for Outdoor sportswear.
Central European countries account for 49.2% of the entire European outdoor sports market with Germany the biggest market within Central Europe as well as the rest of Europe. Footwear was the fastest developing sector at +5.2%, followed by backpacks +2.7%, apparel +2 .5% , accessories +2 .3% and climbing gear +1 .6%.
