Good Growth for Sport-Tiedje

2017-06-06 source own
Sport-Tiedje, a fitness equipment specialist based in Germany, seem to be enjoying a successful year so far and this comes off the back of their best ever in 2016. In the financial year of 2016, the company saw sales of over €108 million which is an increase of nearly 60% when compared to the same period twelve months earlier.

According to a recent report, there were two main reasons for this growth with Laidir Leisure (a subsidiary) being the first as they boast the Powerhouse Fitness brand. Back in 2015, Sport-Tiedje purchased the company and they were included in the accounts for the first time alongside Fitshop P.V. who seem to be the second reason for the success.

CEO of Sport-Tiedje, Christian Grau, has said “We have been working with great dedication to integrate our new colleagues from Fitshop and Powerhouse Fitness in the group, synchronize and optimize our processes and coordinate our offers with one another. Above all we want to establish ourselves more widely than before in our operating markets. To do so we have markets in mind that are currently only covered by online shops.”

Across Europe, the brand introduced four new branches just recently and this is to go with over 20 new ‘shop-in-shops’ since they have a close relationship with Karstadt Sports. In total, the company now has 66 shops located mainly in Germany but also across Belgium, Switzerland, the UK, Austria, Denmark, and the Netherlands. Currently, their headquarters can be found in Schleswig and they are now seen as the largest brand within the home fitness niche. Furthermore, they have grown to become one of the most well-known online mail order fitness companies.
