According to reports, Russia have had to increase spending on the 2018 World Cup by 19 billion Rubles (over €300 million). Originally, the event was set to cost €9.7 billion but over time this has increased to well over €10 billion. However, there has been no explanations from the organisers just yet as to the reasons for the rise.

Taking place between June 14th and July 15th in 2018, Russia has chosen eleven different cities with twelve venues including; Kazan, Moscow, Sochi, Samara, St Petersburg, Volgograd, Saransk, Kaliningrad, Yekaterinburg, Rostov-on-Don, and Nizhny Novgorod.
