International Biathlon Union finds new sponsor
2016-10-13 source ownHormann, German door supplier, has been revealed as the new sponsor for the BMW IBU World Cup and the World Championships from the 2016/17 season after agreeing a deal with the International Biathlon Union.
Brokered by Infront Sports & Media, the deal will see the name being shown around the various stadiums, at the shooting range, along the track, and even on the starting bibs of the athletes. As well as this, the sponsorship deal will see hospitality and many other advertising options.
Senior Partner at Hormann KG, Christoph Hormann, said “By entering into a sponsorship agreement with the IBU, we are able to reach approximately 500 million viewers each year across Europe. The sport enjoys great popularity in significant markets for us, including Germany, Russia and Scandinavia amongst others. Football matches are usually not staged during the winter months and therefore an advertising presence at the IBU World Cup Biathlon races - which take place at this appealing time of year - is the perfect complement to our ongoing commitment to international football.”
Starting on November 27, the 2016/17 IBU season is hotly anticipated and will begin in Sweden. All in all, there are nine World Cup races held in nine different locations until March 19. When it comes to the BMW IBU World Championships, these will be held in Hochfilzen, Austria.
