The third season in the Hungarian Snooker Gala series is set for another chance to offer the legends of the game a platform to showcase their talents. The world-class show is scheduled for Saturday, May 19. At the event, the two champions who happen to be the perennial people’s favourite will be live in action. They are Jimmy White and the 2005 World Champion Shaun Murphy.

The popular series will be hosted in Budapest. It will feature the world’s best snooker players live in a series of exhibition matches. The organizers have successfully convinced the two truly exciting and attacking players to participate in the event.

Jimmy “The Whirlwind” White and Shaun “The Magician” Murphy are expected to thrill the audience with some of the best magical snooker moves at the event. The entire show will be held in one venue for the benefit of the Sports TV audience, according to the press release that was sent to the Budapest Business Journal.

London born White is one of the iconic names when snooker is mentioned. He has been the favourite of the audience for over 35 years. Apart from this spectacular, fearless style of play, Jimmy is perhaps as famous or infamous for his Bohemian lifestyle and for the cruel twists of fate that saw him contest in six World Championships finals without a single win. He, however, remains a member of the professional ranks till this day, and one of the world’s most sought-after players. White is also an official ambassador for snooker as a sport.

Murphy who is also an English man emerged to the limelight when he attained the 48th position in the world ranking. He made headlines with his victory at the World Championship in 2005. Murphy later won more victories in the UK championship and the Masters which made him the holder of snooker’s Triple Crown of titles. He is the fourth Triple Crown Championship holder to visit Hungary, after other legends such as Steve Davis, Mark Williams, and Neil Robertson who visited last year.

The stars will come together again at the May event to participate in two shows before the local snooker fans. The shows are scheduled for 2.30 pm and 8 pm. In the normal fashion, the event will feature some of the best local snooker talents who will make the event more captivating; they include the 11-year-old Bulcsú Révész and nine-time Hungarian national champion Zoltán Kojsza.

, The objectives of the Snooker Gala organizers are to improve the sport in Hungary. At this event, the matches will be officiated by two graduates from the local associations recently launched training scheme for snooker referees.
The exhibition takes place at the usual venue, the Aladár Gerevich National Sports Hall, located at Istvánmezei út 3 in Budapestʼs District 14.
