Nearly 78,000 units of electronic mountain bikes were sold in Austria in 2015 which shows an increase of nearly 55% when compared to 2014 and means that one in every five bikes sold in the country are of this variety. The average sales price of bicycles as a whole also rose as a result of the positive year for e-MTB’s and is now at around €780. Increases in average price were enjoyed by both the sports retailers and the IBDs but one is still a long way ahead at €510 and €1,050 respectively.
