2016-07-28 source own

After a successful period in Germany, Decathlon has announced that they will be creating more jobs in the country with a particular focus on Dortmund, which will be the home of a completely new logistics centre.

Decathlon, originally from France, has enjoyed good times in Germany recently and now has around 33 stores but this is set to increase even further by two come the end of 2016. Furthermore, the Schwetzingen logistics centre has over 2,300 employees but the company obviously feel the need to build a new logistics centre in Dortmund which is set to create even more jobs. Construction on this new site has already begun and once finished, will be the centre of all activities in the northern part of the country as well as business online.

In total, the French company now has over 1,000 stores who employ around 70,000 people; as a result, total sales reached over €9 billion in 2015 alone.
