No Eurobike for Derby Cycles

Focus, Kalkhoff, Rixe, Raleigh, and Univega will all be missing at this years’ Eurobike event as Derby Cycle, owned by Pon, has decided against attending. The decision was said to be made in an attempt to concentrate more on their own dealer events over the coming months.
This is big news for the event as Pon is currently the biggest manufacturer of bicycles in Germany. ‘Bike expo’ is perhaps the most well-known event by Pon and is held in their Cloppenburg factory whilst Morzine, France will play host to the new ‘Pon. Bike Morzine’ (P/B/M) event. The latter is said to revolve around ‘Focus’ and their models for 2017.
Chairman of the Board of Derby Cycle Holding GmbH, Thomas Raith, has said “In the new format P/B/M, Focus will present its new brand image and a variety of new and outstanding models and technologies. Above all, the new full-suspension models with which we complete our range in this segment and the new e-MTB models represent a world first and will raise the Focus brand to a top level.”
Product Director of Focus, Marc Faude, said “In conjunction with new patents, market leading carbon technology and a world first in the e-MTB sector, we will inspire the customers with a product and brand experience, especially by means of extensive test rides.”
Raith also went on to discuss other exciting events in the year ahead; “Alongside the new P/B/M, we will continue our Bike Expo in Cloppenburg which has developed over the past few years into today’s largest private bicycle trade fair in Germany. This is the only place where we can present our dealers our entire product range and many important suppliers. Above all, the great atmosphere of this event with test rides, various training offers on technologies and marketing provides the dealers with a brand experience combined with ample opportunities for personal talks. That is also exactly the key to success of this event. We will also continue our presence at the dealer shows of ZEG and BICO.”
