Poland’s National Museum and Dialogue Centre named World Building of the Year
2016-11-24 source ownLocated in Szczecin, Poland, the National Museum and Dialogue Centre has now been declared World Building of the Year for 2016. In a panel that was led by famed British architect David Chipperfield, Robert Konieczny KWK Promes in Poland were awarded the prize for their creation. This award marks the end of the World Architecture Festival (WAF) and a superb year for leisure architecture; the result was announced at a special gala dinner in Berlin.
On the opening day, the same building won the Culture Building sub-category in an award where there were 17 different buildings up for the title. As an educational centre in Solidarity Square, Szczecin, this award tops off what has been a successful period in time since the famous anti-communism rallies at the beginning of the 1970s.
Wth the main building going underground, the roof moulds into a part of the square which means that the public space isn't affected.
