Signa makes move for Internetstores in Germany

2016-11-15 source own
Over the years, we have seen intense competition between the different companies in the bicycle market and this has now spilled over into an acquisition as Signa Retail announces that they will be taking over Internetstores Holding GmbH. Currently, Signa Retail is worth an estimated €3 billion in Germany whilst Internetstores is also growing in reputation for selling products under a number of different brands including Brugelmann, Internetstores, Addnature, and Bikster.

Marius Kohler, founder of Internetstores, will be releasing his share of the company as will the main investor of EQT Expansion Capital II. Although nobody has seen exact financial details just yet, the transaction has yet to gain approval from the appropriate authorities.

If the transaction were to process without any problems, this would add Internetstores to the list that already contains Karstadt Wrenhaus GmbH, KaDeWe Group, Karstadt Sports, Dress-for-less, Outfitter, and EATALY for Signa Retail. According to the company website “All six businesses are run by a team of seasoned department store and retail experts. These six companies have a total of over 20,000 staff at more than 100 locations, and combined annual revenue of around €3 billion, making Signa Retail one of Germany’s largest retailers.”
