Asics Enjoys Strong Growth in Central Europe

Asics, the leading Japanese running brand, experienced strong growth in sales, especially healthy development in tennis and running, and Asics Europe experienced another year of record sales in some key Central European countries. Earnings from tennis equipment increased in the double-digits, partly as a result of an outstanding performance and a strong profile for the company in this sector, indoor footwear improved in the single-digits, running apparel was up by 15 %, together with related shoes by 14 %.
By country, Asics experienced 10% growth in France, Spain, Italy, the U.K., Poland, Denmark, and Sweden. Asics reported a strong single-digit increase for the leading central European country, Germany, and its CE neighbor, Austria. Own stores jumped by 37 % across Europe overall.
