According to a statement made by Czech Association of Mountain Resorts at a recent press conference, Czech mountain resorts has made a major investment of 750 million crowns for development purposes this year. Earlier, the plan was to invest a billion crowns but the plans were curtailed and postponed to a later date due to the global pandemic.

Prior to the commencement of the winter season, the ski resort made an investment of CZK 600 million for operational use.

A major part of the investment was done on technologies surrounding the development of artificial snow. This was mentioned by Libor Knot who is the director of the Czech Association of Mountain Resorts. New machinery can be energy effective and uses less water.

Large number of ski resorts are making investments for the construction of artificial water retention capacities.
Another major investment which was made to connect the already running ski resorts and developing online services such as sale of ski passes.

There will be three new cable cars operating in the Czech mountain resorts this year, these are located at Říčky in Orlické hory, Kraličák in Kralický Sněžník and Mladé Buky in the Krkonoše Mountains.

In 2020, the state agency Czech Tourism has made plans to invest CZK 17 million to attract new tourists to the mountainous tops of the Czech Republic.

The campaign would also seek to improve tourism in Czech towns and spas prior to Christmas. This program would be solely targeting tourists of the neighboring countries and also from Denmark and Netherlands as well.
As per the Czech Association of Mountain Resorts, the past winter was the worst they have experienced. The ski resorts were affected by poor snow conditions and season ended early following the spread of the COVID virus by almost 24 days.

There has been a steady increase in the number of tourists visiting the Czech mountain resorts this summer, increasing at a rate of 5% per annum.

This summer in particular has seen a rise of 15%. But the season was severely affected from the pandemic and its control measures which are in place.
