Pon.Bike invests in Central and Eastern Europe

Pon.Bike, the world’s leading bicycle company, announced it will open a new manufacturing facility in Kėdainiai, Lithuania in 2024. The new facility will help Pon.Bike meet growing demand for its products in Central and Eastern Europe. With this investment, Pon.Bike reaffirms its commitment to providing high-quality bicycles to people around the world. The new factory will create jobs and support the local economy in Kėdainiai. Pon.Bike is proud to be investing in Lithuania and looks forward to bringing its innovative products to cyclists across Central and Eastern Europe.Fast-growing global Bicycle manufacturer for CEEPon.Bike, is also one of the world’s largest e-bike manufacturers, is expanding its production capacity with a new manufacturing facility in Lithuania. The new production center could scale up to an annual production capacity of 600,000 bikes and will be equipped to produce bikes for multiple brands across the company’s premium portfolio, including Gazelle, Kalkhoff, FOCUS, and Urban Arrow. Pon.Bike expects to hire around 300 people over the first three years of operations, a number that could grow to over 500 in the future. This investment is part of Pon.Bike’s continued growth strategy, with 2,400 employees globally and international brands such as Cannondale. Recently after acquiring Dorel Sports, home to leading international brand Cannondale, their combined turnover will reach EUR 2.5 billion.Developing Bicycle manufacturing in Central and Eastern EuropeWith this latest expansion it will allow Pon.Bike to better cater to the growing demand for its high-quality bicycles across CEE while keeping logistics simple and efficient. With this new facility, Pon.Bike now has production plants in three different countries - the Netherlands, Germany, and Lithuania - ensuring that it can serve its customers throughout the region quickly and efficiently.Continuous growth to enable sustainable mobilityPon.Bike, is aiming to be a sustainable bicycle manufacturer for Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), its investing in new production technology to increase its production capacity by 25%. This will enable the company to better meet the growing demand for sustainable mobility solutions in Europe and beyond. Jacques Geijsen, spokesman for Pon.Bike, commented on the investment: "A strong believer in continuous growth of the global bicycle market, Pon.Bike is committed to making cycling an ever more important part of mobility worldwide." He added that the new investment will help Pon.Bike "adapt to changes in the global micro-mobility solutions industry, in which Central Eastern Europe plays an important role.
