Lowa is set to integrate its Austrian sales company, Lowa Sportschuhe GmbH, based in St. Martin im Innkreis, starting January 1, 2024. This strategic move aims to further strengthen and standardize Lowa’s market presence across the DACH region.

The newly integrated entity will be known as Lowa Austria GmbH. Joining the current managing director, Günter Würtinger, who has been at the helm since 2018, will be Matthias Wanner, Chief Sales Officer (CSO) of Lowa.

Previously a long-standing and legally independent sales partner, Lowa Sportschuhe GmbH has seen significant growth over the years. The company’s average sales over the past three years have reached approximately 20 million euros, surpassing pre-pandemic levels. Founded in 1984 by Josef Würtinger, the Austrian subsidiary currently employs 23 people.

“This is a strategically important step for our company. With the acquisition of Lowa Austria, all of Lowa’s core German-speaking markets are now unified under one roof,” remarked CEO Alexander Nicolai.

This integration marks a pivotal moment for Lowa, reinforcing its commitment to expanding and solidifying its presence in the DACH region.
