Fitshop Acquires Kettler and HOI Brands from Trisport AG, Expanding European Home Fitness Market Presence

In a strategic move to bolster its position in the European home fitness market, Fitshop Group has acquired the brand rights to Kettler and HOI from Swiss-based Trisport AG. This acquisition, effective October 31, 2024, encompasses the trademarks, existing inventory, and associated online platforms of both brands. The financial terms of the deal remain confidential.
Christian Grau, CEO and owner of Fitshop Group, highlighted the significance of this acquisition: "The Kettler brand has been integral to our journey since our inception in 1984. Integrating Kettler into the Fitshop family aligns with our commitment to offering top-tier home fitness solutions." Kettler's product lineup, renowned for ergometers, treadmills, and strength training equipment, complements Fitshop's focus on the home fitness sector.
Melanie Lauer, CEO of Trisport AG, expressed confidence in the transition: "Fitshop has consistently been a pivotal partner for Kettler. We are pleased that the brand will continue to thrive under Fitshop's stewardship."
With this acquisition, Fitshop aims to enhance and expand Kettler's product offerings across Europe. Grau emphasized, "Kettler's reputation extends beyond Germany. We are committed to further developing the brand to meet the evolving demands of the modern fitness market."
Fitshop, formerly known as Sport-Tiedje, operates 67 branches across nine European countries and maintains a robust online presence. The company offers over 7,000 products, including proprietary brands and exclusive partnerships, catering to private customers, fitness studios, corporations, and physiotherapy practices. In 2023, Fitshop reported revenues exceeding €124 million and employs more than 600 individuals.
Established in 1949 by Heinz Kettler in Germany's Sauerland region, Kettler has a rich history of producing fitness equipment, garden furniture, and children's toys. Under Trisport's leadership, the brand underwent modernization, introducing innovative fitness equipment with contemporary designs and enhanced connectivity features.
This acquisition positions Kettler to continue its legacy in the home fitness industry, supported by Fitshop's extensive distribution network and market expertise.
