Czech: Eden Arena set to change ownership

It is good news for all involved with Slavia Prague as China Energy Company (CEFC), a 60% majority stakeholder in the club, is now set to purchase a 70% share in the club’s home stadium Eden Arena. The move is set to cost the Chinese company over €30 million and the investment isn't going to finish there after plans were announced to expand the stadium to a 30,000-seater and have the Czech National Team play all home games there.
The stadium in itself is relatively new after being built just eight years ago and currently holds 21,000 people as well as playing host to some of the country’s national fixtures. However, it has gained a good reputation very quickly after hosting the 2013 UEFA Super Cup between Bayern Munich and Chelsea as well as being the home for all of FC Viktoria Plzen’s UEFA Champions League home fixtures in the 2010/11 season. The stadium is also coming to the end of a deal with Bohemians 1905 which sees the club play home games in front of the 21,000 strong crowd.
