E-bikes are seeing an unprecedented rise in sales within Central Europe. Specifically, in Switzerland, the sales proportion of e-bikes to traditional bicycles now stands at an impressive 50%, a figure slightly higherr than its neighboring nations, Germany and Austria, where the ratio is 48% each. However, projections suggest that in these three Central European countries, every other new bicycle sold this year will likely be an e-bike.
As for the Swiss market, e-bike sales soared by a striking 17% in 2022, marking the highest growth among German-speaking countries. Interestingly, Switzerland, with a population of 9 million, reports higher e-bike sales than the UK, which boasts a significantly larger population of 67 million. This trend emphasizes the increasing preference for e-bikes within Central Europe.
