Fitness World, a giant in the health club market in Denmark, has agreed a deal to take over the Polish gym group Condizione. The move comes as Fitness World look to put their expansion plans into action. The deal means that they will take control of five sites in Poland as they look to grow in the country. The sites acquired are located in; Jelenia Gora, Legnica, Wroclaw, Kalisz and Swidnica. Fitness World wanted to explore the Polish market and clearly see this as a great stepping stone towards that goal.
Fitness World Founder and Chair Henrik Rossing has said “We share the same ambition of bringing better fitness to more people and are impressed with what Condizione has done this far. The Polish market seems similar to what we saw in Denmark a few years back and the ambition is to do in Poland what we have successfully done in Denmark, respecting that we are not yet familiar with this market and very aware that there are cultural and structural differences that need to be taken into account”.
