2016-04-26 source own4.57 million - The number of current Sky customers which is an increase of over 70,000 meaning that is has been another successful period for the company in Germany. In the first quarter of 2016 alone, Sky Deutschland posted pre-tax profits of over €3 million.
The average spend of a customer is at around €35, even with the amount of discounts that were offered in an attempt to keep existing customers. It is thought that these were offset by the amount of new customers choosing to include ‘Sky Box Sets’ in their package, which was at 40%, showing that the heavy investment in advertising has paid off.
Sales on the whole were over €500 million in the first three months of 2016 which lead to an impressive operating profit, however, an unknown net loss. Despite the loss, Sky’s overall customer base grew by nearly 180,000 to 21.65 million.
