A comprehensive consumer study found that the most popular sports brand in 2019 for Germany were Nike and Adidas. However, unexpectedly, an Asian brand appeared on the  list as well.

Over 23,000 Germans, 14 and older, participated in the VuMA Touchpoints 2020 consumer study. The study asked them about the sports and swimwear industry, and it revealed some interesting information.

22.6 percent purchased Adidas-related swimwear or sportswear in the last 12 months, with another 18.5 percent saying that bought Nike-related products. Both brands have seen a rise in their popularity in the last year compared to the year before.

•    9.9 percent purchased Puma products.
•    7.6 percent purchased Reebok products.
•    4.1 percent purchased Esprit products.
•    4.0 percent purchased Fila products.
•    3.6 percent purchased Asics products (Japanese brand).

55.5 percent of the surveyors said they purchased sports shoes, swimwear or sportswear in the last 12 months at least one time.

By 2025, the worldwide sportswear market volume is anticipated to hit about $208 billion.
