Intersport International Corporation (IIC) is rolling out its niche store, Run & Fit , in Russia. The Intersport innovative endeavor is the Run&Fit banner, which premiered in Intersport Russia in St. Petersburg. The move is designed to additionally reinforce the visibility of the Intersport brand in shopping centers as well as downtown areas across Russia.

The Run&Fit concept put in place by Intersport Russia is considered to be an ideal strategy, which small and medium-sized retail stores can use to enhance their reputation as specialized running and fitness outlets. For the subsequent 3 years, in many of the fifteen countries where  IIC is in business, the company intends to further develop the niche outlet route, and continue to expand, because they don’t want to be known just for running and fitness, but additionally for team sports and for outdoor sports activities. The goal is to have about 50 outlets using the their Run&Fit concept model by 2019.

For the Russian marketplace, Intersport expects to create a minimum of 10 Run & Fit shops in St. Petersburg as well as Moscow. The preliminary store in St. Petersburg offers a total selling surface area of 250 square meters.
