The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is set to debut a luxurious hotel in Budapest, transforming the historic Gellért Hotel through an extensive renovation and rebranding process. Slated to open in 2027, the newly named Mandarin Oriental Gellert Budapest will emphasize wellness offerings.

Owned by BDPST Group, this property initially launched in 1918, quickly becoming a landmark grand hotel in Hungary's capital. It enjoys a prime location on the Buda side of Budapest, a brief stroll from the Liberty Bridge.

The refurbishment of the hotel, including its 143 guestrooms and suites, wellness facilities, and public areas, will be under the guidance of London's Alexander Waterworth interior design studio. The hotel's amenities will include a top-floor Fitness and Movement Studio and an indoor pool under a retractable glass roof, complemented by a vitality tub, sauna, cold plunge pool, and an outdoor relaxation zone. Additionally, the hotel will feature a rooftop bar offering sweeping views of the Pest side of the city and the Danube River.

The hotel plans to include a patisserie and café, serving as a popular spot for both residents and tourists. Moreover, an exquisitely restored Art Nouveau ballroom is set to become a premier event space.
