New Wave Group Strengthens Presence in Central Europe with Cotton Classics Acquisition

2025-07-18 source own

Sweden’s New Wave Group AB (publ) has announced the acquisition of Cotton Classics Handels GmbH, a leading textile wholesaler based in Austria. The deal, valued at €47.6 million, marks a strategic move to deepen the company’s reach across Central and Eastern Europe’s growing apparel distribution sector.

Founded over 25 years ago and headquartered near Vienna, Cotton Classics has built a reputation as one of the region’s premier B2B apparel distributors. With strong market positions in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, and Italy, the company supports a diverse client base and represents approximately 50 global clothing brands.

A standout feature of Cotton Classics is its advanced e-commerce platform, which processes around 90% of its orders online – setting a benchmark for digital wholesale operations in the textile industry.

This acquisition not only boosts New Wave Group’s footprint in Central Europe but also provides a robust springboard for further expansion in the CEE region through trusted local distribution partners and digital excellence.
