Croatian consumer goods distributor, Orbico Group, is set to acquire HBI Italy Acquisition, the distributor of Champion brand sportswear, according to a notice submitted to North Macedonia's competition regulator. The deal will include HBI Italy Acquisition's subsidiaries located in Italy, Ireland, and Germany, as confirmed by North Macedonia's Commission for Protection of Competition.
As Orbico operates in North Macedonia through its subsidiary, Orbico Doo Skopje, the company was required to notify the local regulator of the acquisition.
Currently, HBI Italy Acquisition is owned by U.S.-based Authentic Brands Group LLC, according to reports from Croatian daily Jutarnji List. Through its subsidiaries, HBI Italy Acquisition manages the distribution of Champion sportswear across several European markets.
This acquisition marks a significant expansion for Orbico, reinforcing its presence in the European sportswear market.
