Polish E-Bike Market Poised to Reach €300 Million in 2024 Amid Growing Demand
2024-10-01 source ownThe Polish e-bike market is experiencing rapid growth, with the total value of the e-bike and bicycle sector projected to reach PLN 4.9 billion (€1.13 billion) by 2024. E-bike sales alone are expected to hit PLN 1.25 billion (€289 million), signaling a significant surge in demand for electric bikes across the country, according to a study by VeloBank Poland.
Poland currently ranks eighth in the European Union in terms of e-bike adoption, a surprisingly low position given its population of around 40 million. However, experts believe that the country’s e-bike market is set to accelerate at a much faster pace than some of its Western European counterparts, such as the Netherlands, France, Austria, Switzerland, and Germany. This is largely due to the improved diversity and quality of e-bike products now available, coupled with the influence of the European Cycling Declaration, which aims to promote cycling across the continent.
Poland's urban mobility and sporting bike sectors have historically had a lower average selling price (ASP) compared to other European markets, but the potential for growth is becoming more apparent. With the increasing popularity of e-bikes, particularly in urban mobility, Poland is positioned to become a significant player in the European cycling industry in the coming years.
The growing interest in e-bikes, driven by factors such as environmental sustainability, convenience, and urban mobility solutions, indicates that Eastern Europe, particularly Poland, will soon emerge as a major marketplace for new mobility companies.
