RSG Group Debuts Flagship John Reed Club in Historic Berlin Locale

RSG Group has recently unveiled a distinctive flagship John Reed health club in Berlin, marking another significant addition to the city’s vibrant fitness and lifestyle scene. Situated in the Prenzlauer Berg district, this high-end facility is nestled within the historic and protected Bötzow Brewery building, allowing it to merge cultural richness with contemporary wellness offerings.

Features and Offerings:

Spanning 3,136 square meters, John Reed Berlin Bötzow club is not just a fitness center but a symbiosis of tradition and modernity. It meticulously preserves the architectural essence of the historic brewery, featuring 7m-high domed ceilings and the old cooling pools of the brewery, now repurposed as unique wet areas and pools for the club. The layout encompasses cardio zones, an equipment park, a free weight area, and diverse fitness programming including reformer Pilates, treadmill classes, and a variety of group workouts. Additionally, members can avail body check-ups, nutrition coaching, and personal training services.

Architectural and Design Highlights:

The design of the club lays emphasis on highlighting the architectural elements of the historic site, with bespoke lighting solutions illuminating the brewery’s vaults, illustrating a meticulous fusion of heritage and innovation. The club also plans to host changing art exhibitions, reflecting John Reed's philosophy of blending fitness with culture, offering a multifaceted experience to the members.

The Larger Project:

The club is a part of the comprehensive redevelopment of the 24,000 square meters former Bötzow brewery site into a dynamic social hub for Berlin, conceived and orchestrated by David Chipperfield Architects Berlin. This ambitious project, rolling out in phases, is anticipated to reach completion by early 2025. The unveiling of John Reed club follows the inauguration of RDG’s expansive Gold’s Gym flagship in Berlin in 2021.
