South Korea invests in Central Europe (CE)

South Korea is playing a major in Central Europe (CE) by investing in Infrastructure as well as building factories for some of its well-known consumer and household electronics and auto brands in the CE region. Poland is its biggest investment destination in Central Europe, South Korea is the 2nd largest investment destination from Asia into Poland.

On Thursday 4th November 2021 South Korean President Moon Jae-in met in Hungary the 4 leaders of the V4 countries an economic and political pact which includes Hungary, Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Poland. Business between South Korean companies and the V4 countries has increased by 40% in the last 5 years which has been worth $20 billion last year. Overall, the V4 countries are the second largest trading partners for South Korean companies to invest in the EU. In total 30% of investments from South Korea in Europe ending up in the V4 countries, South Korea companies see the V4 countries as a pivotal manufacturing hub in Europe.
