Spar Group Expands Hervis Logistics with New Central Warehouse in Austria

2024-12-16 source own

The Spar Group is enhancing its logistics infrastructure by constructing a state-of-the-art central warehouse for its sports retail subsidiary, Hervis, in Fischamend, Lower Austria. Located in the Ayka Helios Vienna Logistics Park, near Vienna-Schwechat Airport, this new facility underscores Spar's commitment to growth in Austria while boosting operational efficiency across its subsidiaries Hervis and Simpex (household products).

The new distribution center will offer 20,000 pallet spaces and is set to create a total of 150 new jobs for Hervis, contributing to a combined workforce of 330 employees at the site. Operated directly by Spar, the facility is designed to streamline logistics processes, ensuring faster, more accurate, and cost-effective deliveries to Hervis branches.

This strategic investment supports Hervis's ability to meet growing demand in the sports retail sector while reinforcing Spar’s leadership in supply chain innovation. Scheduled for completion and commissioning by autumn 2025, the warehouse represents a pivotal step in optimizing delivery operations and strengthening the brand’s market position in Austria and beyond.
