Stay Fit Gym Expands Network with New Location in Bucharest’s Rahova Neighborhood

Stay Fit Gym, one of Romania’s leading fitness chains, has strengthened its national presence with the opening of its 47th fitness center in Bucharest’s Rahova neighborhood. This marks another milestone in the company's rapid growth, fueled by a commitment to quality and accessibility.

A Modern Fitness Hub in Rahova

The new Rahova facility spans 1,200 square meters, offering dedicated zones for fitness, functional training, cardio, and group classes. The investment in the center totaled RON 3.5 million (EUR 700,000), reflecting Stay Fit Gym’s dedication to providing state-of-the-art fitness experiences.

Rapid Growth and Strategic Investments

Since the start of 2023, Stay Fit Gym has launched 20 new centers, achieved through a mix of new openings and acquisitions. The company has invested approximately RON 70 million (EUR 14 million) to expand its network, which now spans 22 cities across Romania, including major hubs such as Bucharest, Cluj, Constanța, Timișoara, and Iași.

By the end of 2024, Stay Fit Gym plans to open its 48th location in Ștefănești, followed by two additional centers in early 2025, bringing the network to 50 locations. This rapid growth underscores the transformative impact of Morphosis Capital, a private equity fund that became a shareholder three years ago when the chain operated just seven centers.

Dominating the Bucharest Region and Beyond

With the opening of the Ștefănești location, Stay Fit Gym will have 20 fitness centers in Bucharest and its metropolitan area, establishing a strong foothold in the capital. The company aims to achieve a network of 100 fitness centers by 2027, solidifying its position as a market leader in Romania and Eastern Europe.

Surging Membership and Revenue Growth

Stay Fit Gym’s rapid expansion has driven a significant increase in membership and revenue:

  • Active members: From 22,000 in 2022 to over 42,000 in 2023.
  • Projected revenue: RON 75 million (EUR 15 million) for 2024, a sharp rise from RON 41 million (EUR 8.2 million) in 2023.

Commitment to Quality and Long-Term Growth

Co-founder and CEO Alexandru Lascar commented:
“The opening of our 47th center is a major achievement, cementing our status as the market leader in Romania and Eastern Europe. Despite challenges, our commitment to maintaining high standards has earned the trust of commercial space owners and members alike.”

Co-founder and Head of Expansion Marius Preodișteanu highlighted the company’s sustainable growth strategy:
“Our success lies in building long-term partnerships with retail parks and shopping centers, securing locations for openings planned through 2027. These collaborations ensure stability and allow us to continue delivering quality and accessibility to our members.”

A Decade of Fitness Innovation

Founded in 2012 by Romanian entrepreneurs Alexandru Lascăr, Marius Preodișteanu, and Laurențiu Lascăr, Stay Fit Gym has grown into the largest fitness chain in Romania. Its blend of premium services and strategic expansion has set a benchmark for the fitness industry in Eastern Europe.

Stay Fit Gym’s journey reflects its dedication to innovation, accessibility, and community wellness, positioning the brand as a trailblazer in Romania’s fitness market and beyond.
