Wilson Staff Advisory Member selected for showdown in Melbourne
2013-11-25
After his best-ever season on the PGA Tour, Wilson Staff Advisory Member Kevin Streelman has been handed the task of defending the World Cup of Golf with U.S. compatriot Matt Kuchar at the Royal Melbourne Golf Club (20-24 November). With the help of his Wilson Staff FG Tour V2 irons and FG Tour TC wedges, Streelman claimed his first PGA Tour win this year at the Tampa Bay Championship and now the world No.43 aims to help his country win the World Cup of Golf for an impressive 25th time. “This is my first opportunity to represent my country in a globally-staged event – it's going to be awesome,” said Streelman, who also came second in this year’s Players Championship, third at the RBC Heritage and finished 13th in the FedEx Cup standings. Commenting on his equipment that has helped him make the team in Australia and win more than $3 million in 2013, the popular 35-year-old said: “My new Wilson Staff irons have been awesome. I’ve been hitting it solid all year; it’s been amazing.” Streelman, who hails from Chicago where Wilson Golf is based, signed with the record Major-winning iron brand back in January 2010 and now plays a key role in the development of new Wilson Staff products like the FG Tour M3 range.
