Hope Technology Ltd

Hope Technology began in the late 1980s as a precision engineering company serving the aerospace industry in northern England. In 1989, its founders turned their machining expertise toward a new challenge, developing disc brakes for the emerging mountain bike scene. Originally created for personal use, these brakes quickly attracted wider attention and marked the start of Hope’s journey into bicycle component manufacturing.

As disc brakes were still unfamiliar to many riders at the time, Hope expanded its range to include more traditional components, starting with hubs. Demand grew rapidly, first in the UK and soon internationally. By 2000, the company made a decisive move to focus exclusively on cycling products, ending all subcontract engineering work.

Today, Hope designs and manufactures an extensive range of bicycle components, including hubs, brakes, headsets, stems, bottom brackets, lights, and even complete frames. All products are produced in-house at the company’s advanced facility in Barnoldswick, where CNC machining, anodising, testing, and hand assembly are carried out under one roof. This vertical integration allows complete control over quality, performance, and delivery.

Exporting to more than 40 countries, Hope components are trusted worldwide for their durability, precision, and reliability, making them a top choice for riders seeking high-end upgrades.
