The German Olympic Sports Confederation ('Deutscher Olympischer Sportbund', DOSB) is the non-governmental umbrella organization of German sport. It was founded on May 20, 2006,  resulting from the merger of the German Sports Confederation (DSB) and the National Olympic Committee for Germany.

The German Basketball Federation (DBB) prepares the ground for amateurs and professionals. The DBB, an umbrella organization of 16 national associations with around 2,000 organized clubs / departments and more than 190,000 assets, is responsible for all aspects of competitive and recreational sport.

The German Badminton Association was founded in January 1953. It includes over his 16-country associations about 217 000 members in 2700 clubs. Since a structural reform in 2004, the DBV is governed by a five-member Executive Committee, chaired by the DBV-President.

The DSSV was founded in 1984 and is Europe's largest employers' association for the fitness industry.
